Mugs! (Level 2)

This course is for students who have already taken a beginner wheelthrowing course and are interested in expanding their skills in a concentrated, skill-focused manner. This round will focus on the mug-- as a group we will exercise both our technical and design skills to figure out a way around this form, possibly the most complex in its own simplicity in all of ceramics. The course will begin with two weeks of technical instruction around form and handle, and we will then spend two weeks on the subject of design before trimming and glazing. All students who have taken a level one course or the equivalent elsewhere are eqipped for level two. 
 
This intensive is part of a series of workshop-style classes where we zoom in on particular skills and objects to give students time to explore particular subjects in a small group. If this subject isn't of interest, there will be a different topic in May, followed by a week-long intensive over the summer. 
 
Materials and cookies included! Students will have the opportunity to fire to 1200 or 1260, depending on studio firing schedule.
