Unlock the alchemy behind ceramic glazes in this hands-on, process-led workshop series. Over 5 Saturday sessions, participants will dive into both the theory and practical art of glaze making, from understanding base components and material behaviour to experimenting with colourants, textures, and surface effects. Guided by an exploratory, research-focused approach, this workshop encourages curiosity, testing, and creative risk-taking. Ideal for beginners looking to deepen their knowledge as well as experienced makers wanting to refine or expand their glaze vocabulary.
 
By the end of the workshop, each participant will have created their own small library of test tiles, developed custom glaze variations, and gained the confidence to continue experimenting independently. The final day we will review the results and have an open discussion. 
 
Please note: this course is best for students with some experience with ceramics, but no experience in glaze mixing is necessary!
