This course is for students who have already taken a beginner wheelthrowing course and are interested in expanding their skills in a concentrated, skill-focused manner. This round will focus on mugs, a bread-and-butter form every potter needs in their arsenal! Deceptively tricky to balance, we will break down the functional and stylistic components of a mug and deal with issues such as weight, handles, and surface to help you understand how to make functional, beautiful mugs!
 
This intensive is part of a series of workshop-style classes where we zoom in on particular skills and objects to give students time to explore particular subjects in a small group. If this subject isn't of interest, there will be a different topic in the winter. 
 
Materials and cookies included! Students will have the opportunity to fire to 1200 or 1260, depending on studio firing schedule.
