This course is for students who have already taken a beginner wheelthrowing course and are interested in expanding their skills in a concentrated, skill-focused manner. This round will focus on vases, a broad category with lots of space to investigate. As well as practical issues like throwing big and tapering down to small necks, we will look together at some interesting questions concerning issues like balance in form, surface treatment, and how we define success in a designed object.

This intensive is part of a series of workshop-style classes where we zoom in on particular skills and objects to give students time to explore particular subjects in a small group. If this subject isn't of interest, there will be a different topic in the winter. 

Materials and cookies included! Students will have the opportunity to fire to 1200 or 1260, depending on studio firing schedule.
